Complaints Authorization Committee

Terms of Reference

The committee shall be responsible for considering allegations about the professional practice of pharmacists referred to it by the Secretary-Registrar.

  • The Complaints Authorization Committee shall consist of all members of the Newfoundland and Labrador Pharmacy Board.

  • The committee shall carry out its duties in accordance with the Pharmacy Act and Pharmacy Regulations.

  • An allegation referred to the committee shall be considered by a panel consisting of at least 3 members of the committee at least one of whom shall be a board member appointed by the minister.

  • The Board shall appoint the chairperson, and vice-person of the committee.

  • The Chair of the Committee shall select panels of not less than three to review allegations forwarded to it.

  • Members of the committee shall be appointed for a term of up to three years and may be reappointed.

  • The Secretary/Registrar, and his/her delegate, are not eligible to be a member of the committee.

  • The committee, or panels of the committee, shall meet as required in response to allegations received.
