Personal Health Information ActThe Personal Health Information Act (PHIA) sets out the rules for the collection, use and disclosure of personal health information. It includes rules that provide individuals with the right to access their own personal health information. PHIA is expected to be proclaimed (brought into force) in the near future and in order to prepare for this, the Department of Health and Community Services has developed resources and tools to help custodians understand their responsibilities and obligations under the Act.
